No! Kanhaiya Kumar didn’t campaign with a poster of Afzal Guru; here’s the fact check

Date:

A post has been making rounds on social media in which CPI MP candidate from Begusarai, Kanhaiya Kumar, can be seen campaigning with a poster of Afzal Guru.

The caption of the photo reads- “They ridicule us as Modi Bhakts. We have landed on Mars …We are aiming for the moon and stars now. Great to follow a man who believes in #NationFirst@kanhaiyakumar ..”Bhakt” of Afzal Guru(man behind Parliament attack)…Such a man can only have his aim on destruction of India”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-check team checked the claim and found it to be FAKE.

When we put the image through Reverse Image Search, we found a video on YouTube from the same rally.

The viral picture is taken from his ‘mobile torch rally’ in Begusarai on April 26. In the video, we can see that the board had CPI’s party symbol which has been photoshopped and changed into Afzal Guru’s face.

In the FAKE vs real collage, it can be seen clearly that the photo has been photoshopped and the poster of Afzal Guru has been superimposed on the picture.
