Katrina Kaif joins ‘Cop Universe’ in Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’

Since the poster of Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar’s upcoming cop drama ‘Sooryavanshi’ was out, fans have been waiting for the makers to reveal the leading lady to star opposite Akshay Kumar in the film.

Reports were rife that Katrina Kaif will be seen playing the female lead in the film. Confirming the same, producer Karan Johar shared a post welcoming Katrina on board as the ‘Sooryavanshi Girl’.

The leading actor Akshay also posted the same photograph featuring the entire Sooryavanshi gang. In the photograph, one can see Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar looking casual and effortless.

The two have previously worked together in films like Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, Welcome and De Dana Dan and they will be seen together after a huge gap of a decade.

The film will go on floors this summer and the release date has also been revealed. The film is slated to release on Eid in 2020. Rohit has a successful track record of directing cop dramas – from Singham and Singham Returns with Ajay Devgn to the recent hit film Simmba with Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan.

Akshay has his kitty full currently with projects like, ‘Good News’, ‘Housefull 4’ and ‘Mission Mangal’ in the pipeline. While Katrina Kaif is busy with her upcoming film ‘Bharat’ with Salman Khan.
