Scrapping Article 370 will end accession of J&K to India: Mehbooba Mufti

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday filed her nomination from the Anantnag parliamentary constituency for the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha election.

After filing the nomination, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti said that if Article 370 is removed, it will end accession of Jammu and Kashmir to India, responding to BJP chief Amit Shah’s 2020 deadline for Article 370.

Mufti is contesting against National Conference’s Husnain Masoodi and Congress candidate Ghulam Ahmad Mir.

Mehbooba had won the Anantnag constituency twice in 2004 and 2014. PDP will not be contesting Jammu and Udhampur Lok Sabha seats.

The polls will be held in five Lok Sabha seats of J&K in five phases on April 11, 18, 23, 29 and May 6.
