Election 2019: BJP Parliamentary Board to meet today

In the wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s top decision-making body, the parliamentary body, is expected to meet on Friday to take stock of its preparedness and campaign.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah will also be attending the meeting.

The BJP parliamentary board meeting comes amid the ongoing heated debate between the government and the Opposition, including Congress, over Balakot air strike with both have accused each other of politicising the Indian Air Force’ strike at terror camps in Pakistan.

A BJP leader said the party top brass will discuss a range of issues as its campaign picks up the pace and strategise over its agenda in the days ahead.

Meanwhile, the Congress, on Thursday announced its first list of 15 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, fielding UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi from Raebareli and party president Rahul Gandhi from Amethi.

The Election Commission is likely to announce the election dates in the next few days.
