Stock markets slide as Indo-Pak tensions escalate

Indian stock markets ended lower on Wednesday after a volatile session as tensions between India and Pakistan escalated. Sensex rose as much as 397 points to 36,371, during the day but fell to 35,735 at day’s low, swinging in a range of 635 points.

The Sensex was down 68.28 points at 35905.43, while Nifty was down 28.60 points at 10806.70.

About 1141 shares have advanced, 1359 shares declined, and 170 shares are unchanged.
