Watch: Su30 flying in the missing man formation at Aero India 2019

Date:

The five-day air show kicked off in Bengaluru on Wednesday with domestic airpower on full display.

Approximately 61 aircrafts are set to roar in the skies. Over 300 exhibitors are participating in the show taking place at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru. Aero India 2019 will showcase India’s air defence prowess and is amongst the largest aero show in Asia.

The Surya Kiran Team didn’t participate in the show in honour of the Wing Commander Sahil Gandhi who lost his life on Tuesday in a mid-air collision during rehearsal between their two aircraft. To pay a tribute to him Su30 flew in the missing man formation in the inaugural session of the air show.

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the show on Wednesday.
