With over 10000 tulips in bloom, Mughal Gardens now open for public

Like each year, the springtime has come early in the official residence of the President, Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Mughal Gardens are welcoming the public from Feb 6 to March 14, from 10 am to 4 pm.

The President, Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated the opening of the Gardens and Udyanotsav this year. The Mughal Gardens are spread over a huge area of 15 acres and are inspired by the Mughal Gardens of Jammu & Kashmir. The vast grounds receive a huge footfall each year with people lining up for a chance to walk around the Gardens.

It showcases a huge variety of flora and this year the main attraction would be the tulips that have been cultivated in the gardens and are in full bloom. 70 odd varieties of flowers have also been imported from Japan and the Netherlands. The Gardens are divided into sections including the Rectangular Garden, the Long Garden, the Circular Garden, the Herbal Garden, the Spiritual Garden and the Musical Garden.

Dates & Timings

Mughal Gardens are open to visitors from February 6 to March 10 from 10 am to 4 pm. The Gardens will remain closed on Mondays. The is no entry fee levied on visitors.

How to Reach


Best way to reach Mughal Gardens will be to take a metro to Central Secretariat. You can easily walk from the metro to gate no 35.

Security Check

The following items will not be permitted inside the Presidential palace due to security reasons –

Eatables and water bottles, cameras, handbags, radios, transistors, briefcases.
