Kohli’s 25th test ton keep the hopes alive for Perth test; India all out for 283

It was Indian skipper Virat Kohli who once again shut his critics with his glorious century on the third day of the second test against Australia in Perth.

The Indian skipper brought up his 25th Test century in 214 balls, his seventh against Australia before India closed its first inning at 283-runs. Kohli’s 123-run inning brought his to the list of most number centuries by visiting player in Austalia. In 10 test on Oz soil Kohli has scored six centuries.

In the process, the 30-year-old also equalled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most Test centuries by an Indian in Australia.

This is his 63rd international ton overall and his maiden century in Perth. He last scored a Test ton against the Windies in Rajkot in October.

Meanwhile, Australia has a lead of 43-runs. Apart from Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane played a knock of 51-runs before he got out in very first over on Day 3. Rishab Pant managed to put 36-runs on the board while Pujara and Vihari contributed 24 and 20 runs respectively. Rest of the of the team could just score in single digit.

At the time of filing this report, Australia was 1/0 in 1.1 overs.
