Sensex, Nifty dive more than 1.5% on global cues ahead of OPEC meet

Benchmark indices dove more than 1.5% on global cues ahead of the OPEC meet later Thursday. The 30-index benchmark Sensex closed 572.28 points, or 1.59%, down at 35,312.13, while the Nifty 50 ended 181.75 points, or 1.69%, lower at 10,601.15.

Domestic investors were cautious ahead of the assembly election results (counting scheduled to be held on Dec 11) while global stocks fell after Canada arrested Huawei Technologies CFO for extradition to the US.

Oil prices dipped as traders eyed an OPEC meeting expected to result in a supply cut.
