No Gladiators on the streets of Rome?

Date:

A new law has been passed by the Roman Council banning men dressed as Gladiators on the streets, street drinking and swimming in fountains.

The reason to ban this act is to prohibit the misbehaved tourists in the streets of Rome. The city council along with the Mayor Virginia Raggi planned out the new regulations to restore the respect for the betterment of the citizens, city and tourists.

According to the regulations, people dressed in Gladiator costumes, attracting tourists for money will be caught and charged a fine of 450 Euros fine. Also, people selling tickets for tourist attractions or those selling illegal food will be hit with similar fines.

The rule on drinking suggests that the tourists or citizens drinking on the Roman streets will now be penalised as well, as it is now prohibited to drink on the streets from 10.00 PM to 7.00 PM. Besides street drinking, liquors stores are also not allowed to sell alcohol between the prohibited timings.

At bars, drinking has to stop at 2.00 AM and the serves will not be allowed to serve liquors post 2.00 AM to any guests. This rule, however, might change during celebrations or special festivals.

If the police officers spot any tourist or citizen disobeying the new regulations, they will issue fines or put bans from that area for around 48 hours. If caught again, a 60 days ban might be applicable on the offenders.

Swimming in public fountains, scribbling names in the Colosseum, and stealing antique cobble stones from the streets has also been found in the city for which the city council has issued banning regulations and punishment in case anyone is found guilty.

So, next time you plan a visit to Rome, you will not be able to see the street gladiators or drink freely on the roads in the city. So, plan safe and stay safe!
