A game of cards on Diwali allegedly proved fatal for a man in Delhi

A 45-year-old man in West Delhi was allegedly murdered by seven men on Diwali night. Harish Sharma was spotted with wounds of gunshots at the exit gate service lane of the Maharaja Agrasen Hospital. According to a senior police officer, the victim was murdered in a fight with the seven men while playing cards on the night of Diwali.

The accused men reportedly worked in West Delhi’s local factories. Raju was the main accused man in the murder and is 32-year-old. He was arrested by the police for the complaint filed by Harish’s wife for the murder of her husband.

His wife said in her statement that Harish left his home after prayers with his family on Diwali evening to play cards with his friends and then he was found murdered.

The Deputy Commissioner of (west) Police told a leading national daily, “The body of the deceased was found with gunshot wounds to his shoulder. He was later identified to be a resident of JJ colony in Punjabi Bagh. A case of murder was registered at Punjabi Bagh police station after his wife gave us a statement. Further investigations are underway.”
