Ducati announced the new Panigale V4R ahead of the 2018 EICMA show in Milan, which will commence from 6th November till 11th November.
The new Panigale V4R is faster and more powerful than the Ducati Panigale V4S and is a slightly downsized version of the outgoing Panigale V4, in order to meet the World Superbike (WSBK) homologation requirements.
The Ducati Panigale V4R is powered by a Desmosedici Stradale R engine with a displacement of 998 cc with, which just meets the WSBK requirements, where the bikes need to have displacement under 1,000 cc.

The Panigale V4R claims a power output of 221 bhp and 111 Nm of peak torque owing to lighter engine components and greater air intake efficiency. The performance of the V4R can be enhanced with the optional Akrapovic race exhaust system, rated at 234 bhp.
The bike features a new aerodynamics package with a bigger windshield and twin gills for better engine cooling. The carbon fibre aerodynamic winglets aid the bike with increased downforce on the front end under heavy acceleration. The unique livery of the V4 R gets Ducati Red offset by the brushed aluminium finish on the fuel tank.
The electronics package has been upgraded as well with a new pit limiter and GPS-enabled lap timer while the rest remains similar to the Panigale V4 with Bosch cornering ABS, Ducati traction control, slide control, wheelie control, power launch, and a bi-directional (up/down) quickshifter. The V4R also sports race-spec Ohlins suspension with mechanical adjustment and an aluminium swingarm with an adjustable four-position pin.
The pricing and availability of the Ducati Panigale V4R is yet to be announced. It is expected to be slightly more expensive than the Ducati Panigale V4.
