Sensex falls 64 points, Nifty ends above 10,500

Date:

The benchmark indices declined marginally in Monday with the Sensex ending 60.73 points down at 34,950.92 on Monday and Nifty50 settling 24.80 points lower at 10,528.20.

Global cues were negative with uncertainty about US-China trade talks. The Indian rupee weakened against the US dollar, tracking losses in Asian currencies.

Oil prices fell as US sanctions as Iran kick in from today. The US is expected to announce the name of around eight countries getting waiver from the US sanctions on Iran later in the day. The sanctions will be reimposed on Monday covering Iran’s oil, banks, insurance and shipping sectors.
