Javelin thrower Sandeep Chaudhary bagged the first Gold Medal at the 2018 Para Asian Games in Indonesia on Monday. Chaudhary bagged the top prize in the men’s F42-44/61-64 event a throw of 60.01 metre at the continental extravaganza.

Sandeep managed his best throw in the third attempt and clinched the top medal. On the second place was SriLanka’s Chaminda Sampath Hetti, while Iran’s Omidi Ali settled for the bronze.
Chaudhary’s disability falls in the F42-44/61-64 category, which relates to limb deficiency, leg length difference, impaired muscle power or impaired range of movement.
