Men should share workload especially during festivals, say Indian women

Date:

Indian women in majority need the men to help them and share equal responsibilities, especially during festivals. A survey was conducted by a popular matrimonial website www.shaadi.com to understand the ideologies of both men and women in terms of their requirement and their roles required in a successful marriage.

They asked a question, ‘During festivals, do you think men and women have equal responsibilities?’ to which 66 per cent women answered ‘No’ and 21 per cent said ‘Yes’. On the other hand, 75 per cent men said ‘Yes’ and 25 per cent answered ‘No’.

A clear distinction can be seen from the data on the point that men and women both should share equal responsibilities. The interesting fact is that the men also do not expect the women to take all the responsibilities of the house, especially when it comes to festivals.

Another question was asked from the men, ‘Do you think it’s a woman’s responsibility to do all the household activities?’ to which all the men answered ‘No’. The women were asked, ‘Do you think it’s a woman’s responsibility to do all the household activities?’, and 47 per cent said yes, while 42 per cent said maybe and 11 per cent said no.

On an average, 7300 answers were collected from both men and women between the age group of 24 to 40.
