PV Sindhu wins India’s first Asiad Silver in Badminton

On Tuesday,  PV Sindhu created history by becoming India’s first woman to get Silver in Badminton at Asian Games. World number 3, PV Sindhu lost to World number 1, Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu-Ying.

The final scoreline read 21-13, 21-16 and as a result Sindhu bagged Silver and Tai Tzu-Ying clinched Gold. Tai was on the lead for most of the time. Her chances of clinching the second game seemed alive when the score was 4-4, with the scores being level for the first time in the match.

On Monday, former World number one, Saina Nehwal lost to Tai Tzu Ying in the semi finals and bagged bronze. The 28-year-old shuttler was handed over a 17-21, 14-21 straight-games defeat by Tzu Ying in the semi-final clash which lasted 36 minutes.
