Quit India Movement also known as ‘August Kranti’ was launched by Mahatma Gandhi on August 9, 1942 at the Bombay session of the All-India Congress Committee.
The movement was first of its kind which Mahatma Gandhi called “An Orderly British Withdrawal” from India. Almost all the leaders of INC were detained by the Britishers and a small violence and lathi charge took place in the mass movement.
2018 marks the 76th anniversary of the moment that plays an important role in the struggle for freedom.
