Canadian woman allegedly raped by man in Delhi

A Canadian national woman aged 20 years was allegedly raped by a man she met at a pub in Hauz Khas in Delhi. The incident took place on Tuesday night.

The accused named Abhishek made friends with the woman at a pub in Hauz Khas Village where she was partying with her pals.

After becoming friends, she visited Abhishek at his guest house in East Delhi where she got assaulted by him. She reported the assault to the police station from AIIMS followed by a written complaint. Abhishek is currently under police custody and further investigations are on.

The woman is on a visit to India with two of her friends and is staying with a family in Delhi for a couple of days now since Monday.

Another investigation, however, states that she went to the house of the accused where she was invited by him.

The statement of the woman stated that she was raped at the guest house. Somehow she managed to escape from there and got a cab that took her to AIIMS and on being advised by one of her friend’s reported the incident to the police.
