New Delhi: The progress of monsoon rainfall is being closely observed by farmers and economists alike. IMD (India Meteorological Department) has said the situation is likely to improve in the coming two or three days so that the sowing of crops such as cotton, corn and pulses can be revived as it has been delayed due to the slow progress of monsoon.
Monsoon is expected to arrive anytime between June 29 and July 1 in Delhi according to IMD. The coming week is expected to bring some respite for Delhi, which is currently blazing under a heat wave.

Data obtained by IMD shows that less than 25 per cent of the country has received normal or excess rains in this monsoon season so far. On Sunday, IMD said that monsoon activity had revived over the weekend and is making a steady advance. IMD had said earlier this week that conditions are becoming favourable for the advancement of monsoon into more parts of central and western India in the next two to three days.
