Arvind Kejriwal strikes enter day four; writes a letter to PM Modi

With the air quality getting worse, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking for the intervention of him to stop the strike by IAS officers so that the issues could be discussed with ease. Kejriwal who started his protest for the fourth day at the Lt Gov Anil Baijal wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that no meeting on pollution control has been held over the last 3 months due to the “strike”.

CM’s party is thinking to march to the PM’s office on Sunday if the situation is not controlled. The protest was supported by Trinamool Congress, Ajit Singh’s RLD and Lalu Yadav’s RJD. In the letter by Kejriwal, he wrote:

Earlier on Wednesday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday came out in support of her Delhi counterpart. In a show of support, Banerjee said that an elected Chief Minister should get “due respect”. The West Bengal CM also appealed to the Government of India and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to resolve the problem immediately.

The AAP government’s demands to the L-G include direction to IAS officers to end their “strike”, action against those who have struck work for “four months”. It has also asked the L-G to approve the proposal for doorstep delivery of rations.
