Sensex closes 215.37 lower; Nifty down 67.70 points

The 30-share BSE Sensex closed 215.37 points lower, on Monday, at 35,011.89, while the Nifty 50 ended 67.70 points down at 10,628.50 dragged by losses in banking and realty stocks.
Investors were cautious, as the the Reserve Bank of India’s three-day monetary policy meeting that began today, is expected to decide on interest rates. The outcome of the policy meeting will be announced on 6 June.

Meanwhile, foreign investors pulled out a massive Rs 297.14 billion from the capital in May, making it the biggest outflow in 18 months, primarily due to a surge in global crude prices. In March, foreign investors had pumped in Rs 26.62 billion in March.
