A dispute among students led to the death of two people in a shooting at the Central Michigan University in Mt Pleasant last evening.
The university later tweeted a warning to the students as the gunman remained at large.
“There has been a report of shots fired at Campbell Hall on campus. Suspect is still at large, police advise all to take shelter. If you see something suspicious, call 911,” it informed.

Mt Pleasant city officials tweeted that the suspect is a black male, armed and dangerous.
“The suspect is a 19-year-old black male who is approx. 5 foot 9 inches tall. He is wearing mustard yellow jeans and a blue hoodie. He may have taken off the blue hoodie. He is considered armed & dangerous. If you see the suspect, do not approach him. Call 911,” their tweet said.

Reportedly, the shots were fired at Campbell Hall within the university premises.
In another tweet, the CMU Student Government Association advised the students to stay inside locked doors and warned them from “walking around the campus”.

The Mt Pleasant police have identified the prime accused as James Eric Davis in the Central Michigan University shooting incident.
According to media reports, 19-year-old James Eric Davis was a sophomore at Michigan University who targeted two people at the University due to personal rivalry.
Two people had lost their lives to an incessant firing done at the CampBell Hall of Central Michigan University in Mt Pleasant, post which the police had issued an advisory to the students to take a shelter and contact 911 in case of an emergency.
The police have further described the shooting as family-type domestic issue.
The gunman is still at large.
Last month, 17 students were killed after a gunman went on a firing spree at a Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, in Parkland, Florida.
