Kamal Haasan makes his political debut from the land of APJ Abdul Kalam

Rameshwaram: Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan is all set to launch his political party in Madurai on Wednesday. Kamal started his political tour with the launch of his party and its guidelines and will also unfurl the party flag.

On Wednesday morning, Kamal Haasan visited the family of former President APJ Abdul Kalam where he took blessings from them and he also gifted a pen to one of the family members in Rameshwaram. After meeting the family members of APJ Abdul Kalam, he headed to meet the fishermen The fishermen community is said to be a very important community in Rameshwaram.

The actor-turned-politician is expected to visit his hometown Ramanathapuram, as well as Madurai, Dindigul and Sivagangai districts during his tour.

As told by the sources, Kamal Hassan’s new party could be named ‘Dravida Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam’.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan has also put out a tweet, where he wrote, “Greatness can come from simple beginnings. Actually, it will come only from simplicity. Glad to start my journey from a great man’s simple abode.”

Earlier, the Hindu Munnani organisation has objected to the ‘politicisation of school’ and has written to the district collector in this regard.

Haasan aims to change the political scenario of Tamil Nadu, which has lately been in turmoil following the death of chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
