Indian veterans Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir sent out a timely reminder to the franchises of IPL ahead of the auction scheduled on January 27 and 28 with half centuries in a thrilling North Zone encounter of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Tuesday.
Yuvraj scored 50 off 40 balls as his team Punjab scored 170/3 in 20 overs. In reply, Gambhir’s knock of 66 from 54 balls kept Delhi in game but could not bail them out as they lost by 2 runs.
Representatives of three IPL franchises — Delhi Daredevils (CEO Hemant Dua), Mumbai Indians (TA Sekar) and RCB (Avinash Vaidya) were checking out the form and fitness of various players before the auctions on January 27 and 28.

While Gambhir was not retained by Kolkata Knight Riders Yuvraj Singh was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad as the teams could retain a maximum of three players for the upcoming season.
With a mega auction scheduled later this month, huge amount of money is expected rain and the entire chemistry of the teams is anticipated to change.
