Vaccum in Uber’s leadership

Date:

Travis Kalanick, Uber CEO, has decided to take some time off as the results of an investigation into widespread mismanagement and a toxic work culture under his leadership were revealed. The departure of the CEO has left the company without a COO, CFO, CMO and now temporarily- a CEO.

The question which is still left unanswered is that who is going to run the company while he takes time to reflect and become “Travis 2.0,” as he wrote in a company-wide email?

The company is now left in the hands of a number of his direct reports, a few of whom are the C-suit executives. The people who have resigned or terminated in the last few months include the company’s president, Jeff Jones, the company’s SVP of engineering, Amit Singal, its head of finance Gautam Gupta and many more.

Uber continues to search for a COO, which the company hopes to make an announcement about soon. If Travis Kalanick remains absent then the COO is likely to lead the charge.
