IT Giant to sack 6k employees in India

US –based IT giant Cognizant is again in the news after it has sacked 6000 employees in India. This big step was taken by the company in order to hire more employees in its home country. The company is also planning to let go of some senior employees through a voluntary retirement scheme.

 

The Forum for IT Employees which has come to the rescue of the IT employees earlier is reaching out the Tamil Nadu Government for the help of the sacked employees. FITE has talked to the Labor department about the matter. FITE has also asked the State Government to interfere and advised the Government to look up to t he matters of ‘illegal termination’.

 

The Cognizant sacking comes to light after Trump administration promised more jobs for US citizens and was not pleased by the outsourcing of the jobs to other countries like India and other Asian countries.
