Sindhu loses to Carolina in Singapore Open quarter-final

Date:

P.V. Sindhu faces a disappointing defeat by her arch rival Carolina Marin. The Spaniard rival enjoyed a sweet revenge for her loss in Indian Open against Sindhu by charging a comprehensive win in the Singapore Open quarters by the score of  21-11, 21-15.
Carolina dominated this quarter-final with her strong smashes and put Sindhu in backfoot. Carolina was moving all over the court, while Sindhu looked out of her glory. Sindhu tries hard to get back to Carolina in the second set, but things didn’t work out and Carolina easily won with a respectable margin.
Meanwhile, B Sainath moves to semis in the men’s singles by defeating Thailand’s Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk. B Sainath ranks 30 and was a runner-up of this year’s Syed Modi Grand Prix. He was victorious over Tanongsak by 15-21, 21-14, 21-19.
Indian Men’s doubles also suffered the same fate as Sindhu and exited from quarters. The pairing of Ashwini Ponappa and Sumeeth Reddy lost to the chinese pair of Lu Kai and Huang Yaqiong by 11-21, 8-21.
