‘Jolly LLB 2’ earns Rs 13 crore on day one

Actor Akshay Kumar’s “Jolly LLB2” has earned over Rs 13 crore on day one at the box office.

Sequel to the 2013 film, the movie starring Akshay, Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla and Annu Kapoor in lead roles released on Friday.

According to Akshay Rathi, the exhibitor, The film is doing well in metro cities in multiplexes. The word of mouth is good. It has opened a bit above Rs 13 crore on day one. Over the weekend it might touch Rs 45-50 crore.

According to the producers Fox Star Studios the sequel has delivered Rs 13.20 crore on day one at the box office.

“Akshay Kumar’s dream run with content cinema continues with ‘Jolly LLB 2.’ The film is riding on tremendously positive reviews and word of mouth and has taken a superb opening even on a non-holiday,” said Vijay Singh, CEO Fox Star Studios.

“We are extremely delighted that ‘Jolly LLB2’ has lived up to the expectations. We are hopeful for a big weekend number given the start that this film has got on Friday,” he added.
