Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit; PM Modi inaugurates International Stock Exchange

The 8th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit will get started on Tuesday. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first International Stock Exchange at GIFT City, Gandhinagar after inaugurating the Nobel Prize Series Exhibition. He then attended the Global Trade Show at Exhibition Ground in Gandhinagar.

He gave a speech at the inauguration of the India International Exchange at Gift city, in which he quoted that “The new cities will be important in creating the India of our dreams- a confident India, an inclusive India, a prosperous India and our India” He also said- the exchange is set to be the fastest exchanges in the world with most modern trading, clearing and settlement systems.

He also added that “This exchange is the part of The International Financial Services Centre-IFSC at the Gift city. The concept of IFSC is simple but powerful.”

Prime Minister also said that “Indians have a long tradition in Mathematics. Indians invented the ‘zero’ and the ‘decimal system’ more than two thousand years ago, and it is no accident that Indians are at the forefront of IT and Finance.”
