UP’s Mahabharat: Everything I’ve achieved is with my father’s blessing says Akhilesh Yadav

Date:

Lucknow: In between the Samajwadi Battle, Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said everything that he’s accomplished in politics is just because of his father and Samajwadi party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

He was quoted saying:
“Loktantra mein Netaji (Mulayam) ne mujhe mauka diya, unhi ke aashirwad se hum logon ne itna kaam kiya hai (Netaji gave me an opportunity, whatever I’ve managed to achieve is with his blessings.”

Akhilesh’s remark comes at a time when two units of the Samajwadi party – one headed by him and Ram Gopal Yadav and the other headed by Mulayam and his brother Shivpal Yadav are fighting the battle for the reins of the party, and for its election symbol, weeks ahead of crucial Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Akhilesh camp appealed the Election Commission to declare that the party and the election symbol is “actually” headed by him now and not Mulayam, who himself had laid claim to the ‘cycle’ symbol a day earlier.

SP leaders including Azam Khan on Wednesday made eleventh-hour efforts to rebuild peace in the party, meeting both Mulayam and Akhilesh separately, but failed to make any headway.
