Free travel for women in DTC buses on Raksha bandhan day

New Delhi, Aug 16 (PTI) Women passengers will be allowedto travel free in buses operated by Delhi TransportCorporation (DTC) on Raksha bandhan day. "DTC has decided to provide free ride on its buses to thefemale passengers on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan on August18. "The free travelling facility for female passengers willbe available in Delhi and NCR in non AC buses between 8 AM to5 PM," the DTC said in a statement. It also said that keeping in view heavy rush of commuterson this day, DTC has also decided to put its maximum buses onroad to cater the extra rush of the passengers. "The depot managers have been directed to carry out allthe maintenance activities of buses so that all the buses oftheir depot could be put on road timely. "Sufficient number of traffic supervisory staff will bedeputed on the heavy loading points for the convenience ofcommuters," an official said. PTI BUNRG
