Date:

In what could be a good news for motor aficionados, Ducati has just launched its Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak edition in India.

The Italian motorbike company launched the limited edition model last week all over the world.

In India, this limited edition bike has been launched at a price tag of Rs 20.06 lakh. The launch of the vehicle is intended to celebrate the centennial year of the Pikes Peak International

Hill Climb (PPIHC). Ducati, the official partners of the historic race, launched the model to commemorate the Italian manufacturer’s six victories.

Ducati India’s managing director, Ravi Avalur released a statement saying that “The Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak is a motorcycle
In which touring capability meets performance. With its race inspired looks and cutting edge technology, the Pikes Peak is in a league of its own and we’re sure enthusiasts will appreciate this version of the Multistrada”.

PPIHC is believed to be one of the most challenging races both mentally and physically for all those who take part in it.

Competitors from all over the world have come to the hill climb that not only has unpredictable weather conditions that challenge the contenders, but more than over 156 treacherous turns to offer as well.

Whoever manages to conquer these turns and make it alive to the 14,115 foot summit is crowned with the title “King of the Mountain”.

While the Multistrada 1200 has been a recipient of multiple victories since 2010, the Pikes Peak limited edition is a celebration of Ducati’s long lasting heritage.

Boasting several upgrades, the limited edition will include upgrades including a fully adjustable Ohlins fork and TTX36 rear suspension. The componentry is modified to include more carbon fibre parts.

Visually, the 100th anniversary limited edition bike has a Pikes Peak 100th Anniversary logo and gets red and white livery with a Ducati red chassis.

The Multistrada 1200 is powered by a Testastretta DVT L-Twin engine that produces a staggering 160hp of power at 9500rpm and 136 Nm of torque at 7500 rpm. Accompanied by a 6 speed gearbox, a five inch digital display, full LED headlamps, Ducati Multimedia System, cornering ABS and much more, the new bike has a lot to offer for the new markets.
