Major global powers are continuously pumping more and more of their money in military projects. The Indian Air Force today commissioned its home grown light aircraft ‘Tejas’ project.
In fact, after their commissioning today, the Indian Air Force is ready with their first squadron who are christened as ‘Flying daggers 45’. wait of almost three decades. The Tejas project, launched under the Indira Gandhi administration, is expected to replace the MIG- 21 LCA fighters which have an extremely high casualty rate.
During its 3,000 hours of sorties in the development phase, the LCA registered more than 2,500 hours of exceptionally clean flights – a Senior IAF Official commented.

It is being said that the Tejas aircrafts are far superior than Pakistan’s JF-17 aircrafts which were built in collaboration with China.
The upgraded versions of Tejas aircrafts which will be equipped with Active Electrically Scanned Array Radar, Unified Electronic Warfare Suite, mid-air refuelling capacity and advanced beyond the vision range missiles are expected to cost the government Rs 275-300 crore.
