Mueller, Boateng, Martinez, Alonso extend Bayern contracts

Date:

Germany striker Thomas Mueller, defender Jerome Boateng and Spain’s Javi Martinez have all extended their contracts with Bayern Munich until 2021, the club said on Friday.

The three-time defending German champions also extended midfield holder Xabi Alonso’s deal until 2017.

The news comes at a time when Bayern Munich are expected to announce they are losing their Spanish coach, Pep Guardiola, strongly linked to a move to the Premier League.

The Bavarian giants hold a five-point lead in the German league ahead of their final game of 2015 at Hanover 96 on Saturday, but the sense of anticipation is building in the Bayern squad over Guardiola’s impending announcement.
