Two drown as boat capsizes

Harda (MP): In a tragic incident two persons drowned and three others went missing after a boat carrying 14 persons capsized in the back waters of Indira Sagar Dam near MP’s Gopalpura village on Sunday, a senior official said.

The boat was on its way to Rampura village from Sontalai when it lost balance and overturned, Harda Collector Rajnish Shrivastava said.

So far bodies of two persons have been found while three others are missing and it is suspected that they too drowned in the incident.

The rescue operation has been stopped due to darkness and it will be launched again tomorrow with the help of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team, the collector said.

Nine persons have been rescued by a team of the district administration, Harda SP Prem Babu Sharma added.
