Fake US visa racket busted

Date:

Police Station for Defrauding (DDEF in the original acronym) held today (Oct. 21) four suspects of defrauding the process for issuing US visas. They charged $7,000 for each visa, and the amount was supposed to be paid to another gang member settled in the United States.

According to the Civil Police, the documents required for visa applicants were forged from the moment they had to fill up the first form to the passport. All documentation was adequate to US government requirements, reported agenciabrasil.ebc.com.

Some of the customers of the racket were hosted in the house of the gang members for weeks to receive special training for the interview.

Also according to the police, the US government will pursue investigations in the United States in order to arrest the identified members and deport the Brazilians who obtained visas under these conditions.
