Free bus rides for girl child, women on October 11

The Aam Aadmi Party government on Thursday decided to provide free ride to girl child and women on DTC and Cluster buses on the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child on October 11.

A senior government official said that the move comes after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his desire for it.

“DTC and DIMTS have been asked to provide free ride to the girl child and women in their buses from 6 AM to 10 PM on October 11,” the official said.

This is the first time that government will provide free ride on the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child.

Till now, the city government used to only provide free ride to women on DTC and cluster buses on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
