Namo’s new NY abode Waldorf is a Chinese hotspot

Date:

China factor forced the Americans to dump the tradition of the US President Barack Obama staying in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York during the UN General Assembly session which was bought by a Chinese insurance company.

Obama is scheduled to stay in the New York Palace Hotel and according to the US Secret service protocol they take over the entire hotel when POTUS is staying there.

So, that meant that the Indian delegation opted for Waldorf Astoria which the US is believed to have shunned as they feared the Chinese snooping.

Now that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to stay in the Astoria, there are already fears that this factor may need to be revisited as the Chinese security agencies are known for their sophisticated eaves dropping techniques.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to meet Barack Obama on September 28 and the meeting may take place at the New York Palace Hotel.

But the big question is that will the Indians risk the Chinese snooping by letting the Indian premier stay in a hotel owned by a Chinese company.

In the past too bugs have been discovered by India’s security agencies during Prime Ministerial visits and in some cases the delegation was adviced not to discuss any sensitive stuff inside the hotel rooms.
