IT finds cash worth Rs 10 cr from Mayawati aide

Noida: In a major embarrassment to the Akhilesh Yadav government, diamonds worth Rs. 100 crore, 2 kilos of gold and Rs. 10 crore in cash have been recovered from the residence of tainted Noida Chief Engineer Yadav Singh. Singh is known to be very close to former chief minister Mayawati.

He has been accused in another case in 2012 and was declared absconding.

However, he was reinstated by the state government in 2013 and was given additional charge as chief engineer of Greater Noida and in-charge of Yamuna Expressway Authority.

Raids were carried out at two dozen locations in NCR at the same time. It revealed that the official had floated several shell companies. It also found Rs. 10 crore in cash stashed in a car outside Singh’s house.
