Gurgaon is set for kids movie carnival

IPSAA is celebrating the spirit of childhood by organising a film festival specially meant for children.

The festival which started on November 22 will screen films till December 25. The movies being shown are My Fair Lady, Boot Polish, Modern Times, I am Kalam, Christmas Carnival and Christmas is here.

IPSAA’s intent is to gradually open doors for children in the age group of 6 to 12 years to view, review and start a creative process of looking at visual media as an important creative partner in their development, one which facilitates their creativity a find thinking.

The award-winning film My Fair Lady sees two British linguists bet on transforming a common flower girl in the street into an aristocratic lady. Then there’s Boot Polish, a movie about a boy on the dusty streets of Lahore who dreams of rescuing a beautiful courtesan. It speaks volumes on morality and hope.

Modern Times is a movie of a boy who struggles to live in modern industrial society with the help of a young homeless woman. It was Charlie Chaplin’s last silent movie with lots of sound effects.

Then there is I am Kalam,  a film that defines the survival of the human spirit against overwhelming odds and highlights the need for underprivileged children’s education. Its a film based on former Indian president A P J Abdul Kalam and is aimed at inspiring the poor to educate their children.

IPSAA is located in Gurgaon, sector 51.
