Candle march taken out by gurgaon apartment owners

Date:

Gurgaon: More than 60 apartment owners participated in the candle march carried out by Uniworld Garden II Apartment Owners Association on Saturday. It was a part of the protest against police inaction in the Rs 400 crore scam involving Unitech’s Uniworld Garden II Group Housing project.

Two weeks have elapsed since an FIR has been filed against the senior executives and owner of Unitech Realty. Based on the order given by the Court of District Magistrate of Gurgaon, the police authorities have not made any arrests of either the owner, Ramesh Chandra or Unitech’s senior executives.

The Uniworld Garden II Group Housing Society consists of 896 apartments and more than 95% of the sale price has been collected by the developer, without any commitment on completion and handover of apartments being met. The main access road to the housing society is on disputed land, which has been in dispute prior to project’s launch. However, the developer Unitech was able to launch the project in spite of that, in collusion with govt authorities.

The FIR recognizes this criminal conspiracy on the part of the developer.

The candle march started from John Hall and culminated at Mini Secretariat, Gurgaon. Owners raised slogans against Unitech authorities, Police, HUDA and the administration for their apathy and inaction in the matter.
