Steel minister calls Modi a murderer

New Delhi: Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma on Sunday startled his audience by alleging Narendra Modi committed murder at the age of 18 and ran away from home. In a strong rejoinder, BJP demanded Congress clarify whether it supported the charge.

BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman hit back by saying Verma’s allegations showed that Congress’ poll campaign has reached “an absolute nadir (the lowest point)”.

“Beni Prasad Verma’s allegations are despicable and baseless; and he acknowledges he does not have proof to back his allegation,” said Ms Sitharaman.
