The battle of Gandhis

Date:

New Delhi: The feud between cousins turned an ideological battle when BJP stalwarts and Congress bigwigs joined it. The bonhomie between Rahul and Varun was all forgotten in the heat of the moment.

This is how it all started: Priyanka Gandhi said in Amethi last week, “He is definitely from my family, he is my brother. But he has gone astray. When a young one in the family chooses the wrong path, then the elders show them the right path, the right way. I urge all of you to show my brother the right path.”

Varun’s mother Maneka Gandhi immediately responded, “If he has gone astray while serving the country, the country will decide.”

Varun in a point-by-point rebuttal said his decency should not be considered a weakness, and he is not crossing the the “Lakshman Rekha of decency”.

“This is not a family tea party, this is an ideological war… It is a betrayal with my family… My father died for the unity of this country”, Priyanka said.
