New Delhi: Intense fighting for prestige seats may prolong the BJP parliamentary board meeting, which is unlikely to end before 9 pm. The top 10 decision makers have a tough time finalising the third list, especially from the electorally significant state of UP.

With veteran Murli Manohar Joshi unhappy about shifting from Varanasi since 2009. Lalji Tandon who represents the Lucknow constituency since 2009 is not too happy to make way for party president Rajnath Singh.

Modi after much speculation about standing from Varanasi seems to have shelved the idea, settling down for Ahmedabad East. BJP patriarch L K Advani may be shifted from Gandhinagar as the Gujarati unit is not in a mood to welcome him. Yashwant Sinha is likely to contest from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand.

A third list is unlikely on Thursday since certain sensitive decisions have yet to be made.
