Antony knew but did not act

Date:

New Delhi: Three reminders were sent from the Western Command to the Ministry of Defence asking for new batteries for India’s submarines, including INS Sindhuratna, which caught fire that claimed the lives of two officers and injuries to seven others. Defence Minister A K Antony, it is reported, ignored repeated warnings from the Navy on outdated batteries.

Officer Lieutenant Manoranjan Kumar and fellow officer Lt-Commander Kapish Muwal paid the price for the inaction. And Admiral D K Joshi paid the price with his top job.
