Lok Sabha adjourned till Thursday

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha is adjourned till Thursday after uproar over Nido Taniam’s death.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for 15 minutes at 12noon over Telangana Bill. When nine Andhra MPs entered the well of the house and started shouting slogans, BJP MPs, too, joined them but over Agusta Westland issue. BJP had earlier asked for suspension of question hour.

The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha sessions resumed amid uproar after both the houses were adjourned till noon. After the session resumed, BJP member Sushma Swaraj raised the issue of the death of Nido Tania, the Arunachal student who was beaten to death in a racist attack in Delhi.

The disruption came after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said, “These are hiccups”. He was referring to a query on possible disruption in Parliament on Telangana issue. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also hoped that important bills are passed in the last session of parliament.
