A picture of Sonia Gandhi sitting in front of a bookshelf that allegedly has a book, titled: How to Convert India into Christian Nation, the Holy Bible, and a statue of Jesus is doing the rounds of social media.
A user shared the picture on Facebook with a caption: जूम करके दाहिनी तरफ देखें। एक पुस्तक जिसका शीर्षक है” भारत को ईसाई राष्ट्र कैसे बनाया जाए”। किसी और प्रमाण की आवश्यकता है? (English translation: Zoom in and look at the right side. A book, titled: How to Convert India into Christian Nation. Need any more proof?)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the picture, and found it to be morphed.
Doing a simple Reverse Image Search of the picture, the NM team spotted an article by The Statesman, dated October 27, 2020, featuring the original picture. In the original image of the bookshelf, there are no books like How to Convert India into Christian Nation, the Holy Bible and the statue of Jesus.
We found the same picture in reports from various media organisations. They can be viewed here, here, here and here.
Further, we found that the original picture is a screengrab from a video on Rahul Gandhi’s X account, dated October 27, 2020. In the video, Sonia Gandhi is addressing the people of Bihar on issues like unemployment, poverty and farmers’ problems.
‘बदलाव की बयार है।’
कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष श्रीमती सोनिया गांधी जी का बिहार की जनता के नाम संदेश आपसे साझा कर रहा हूँ।
