New Delhi: Following his match-winning performance in the ICC T20 World Cup final, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has clinched the number one spot in the men’s T20I all-rounder rankings, according to the ICC’s latest update on Wednesday.
Pandya played a pivotal role in the final, securing crucial wickets of Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, and Kagiso Rabada. Throughout the tournament, the star all-rounder demonstrated exceptional prowess with both bat and ball.
Pandya consistently delivered impactful cameos down the order with the bat, amassing 144 runs at a strike rate exceeding 150. He also proved invaluable with the ball, taking crucial wickets when the team needed them most, finishing the tournament with 11 wickets.
The ICC T20I all-rounder rankings saw significant shifts, with Marcus Stoinis, Sikandar Raza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Liam Livingstone each moving up one spot. Meanwhile, Mohammad Nabi dropped four places, falling out of the top five.
In the men’s T20I bowling rankings, India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who earned the Player of the Tournament award at the T20 World Cup for his 15 wickets, climbed 12 places to just outside the top ten. South Africa’s Anrich Nortje surged seven places to a career-best second position, trailing only the top-ranked Adil Rashid, who holds 675 rating points.
Kuldeep Yadav also broken into the top ten of the bowling rankings, climbing three places to secure a joint-eighth position. Other notable advancements include Arshdeep Singh, who moved up four spots to a career-best 13th after leading the wickets tally at the T20 World Cup.
