India has been a friend in need for countries around the world when it comes to supply of vaccines under its Vaccine Maitri initiative or providing life saving drugs during the pandemic outbreak last year.
Today, when the coronavirus spike continues unabated and India struggles hard to meet its domestic requirement for oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators and drugs like Remdesivir, at least 40 countries have extended their helping hand to help India defeat the second wave.
Global cooperation is the need of the hour and India’s helping hand to others earlier has set the benchmark for global cooperation. While vaccine production is being ramped up with necessary raw materials being made available from international quarters to Indian manufacturers, we can only thank India’s foreign policy.
Had India turned it’s face away from others earlier, today we would have been isolated on the world stage with little or no support.
