Indian Consulate In New York Launches Internship Platform For Indian Students

New York: With a significant number of Indian students traveling to the US every year for higher education and actively pursuing internship opportunities, the Indian Consulate in New York has launched a new platform. This initiative aims to assist students in securing internships across the United States by facilitating direct applications to companies through the newly unveiled portal.

The consulate, in a statement, highlighted its commitment to enhancing educational and professional opportunities for Indian students studying in the United States. According to the consulate, numerous Indian and American companies and organisations have expressed readiness to consider deserving Indian students for internship positions through this newly established platform.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Indian Consulate in New York wrote, “As part of the initiative to support Indian students in its jurisdiction, @IndiainNew York has developed a platform for Indian Students to find internship opportunities at companies in the USA.”

According to the Open Doors Report (ODR), the influx of international students from India to the US surged by 35 percent, reaching an all-time high of 268,923 students during the academic year 2022–23. Indian students constitute more than 25 percent of the over one million foreign students studying in the United States.
